The Crown Power Legal Department serves as the dedicated legal division for Crown Power Energy Systems Ltd. Our department is structured to provide comprehensive legal support across all business operations, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities that ensure efficient delivery of legal services.

DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE

General Counsel / Head of Legal

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing overall leadership and direction for the legal department

  • Developing and implementing legal strategy aligned with business objectives

  • Advising the Board of Directors and Executive Management on legal matters

  • Managing legal risk at an enterprise level

  • Overseeing the legal budget and resource allocation

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders

  • Final approval of significant legal documents and decisions

  • Representing the company in high-profile legal matters

Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts

  • Advising on commercial transactions and business arrangements

  • Supporting business development initiatives with legal expertise

  • Managing commercial disputes and pre-litigation strategy

  • Providing guidance on business and commercial risk management

  • Advising on competition law and anti-trust matters

  • Supporting mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions

  • Developing standard contract templates and processes

Senior Legal Counsel - Regulatory Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring organizational compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes

  • Developing and implementing compliance programs

  • Managing relationships with regulatory authorities

  • Conducting compliance training for employees

  • Overseeing internal compliance audits and reviews

  • Investigating potential compliance breaches

  • Advising on regulatory impact of business decisions

  • Managing European law compliance post-Brexit

Employment Law Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on all aspects of employment law

  • Developing and maintaining employment policies and procedures

  • Supporting HR with complex employee relations cases

  • Managing employment tribunal claims

  • Advising on TUPE transfers, restructuring, and redundancies

  • Ensuring compliance with equality and diversity legislation

  • Handling senior executive contracts and terminations

Intellectual Property Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the company's intellectual property portfolio

Litigation Counsel

Data Protection Officer

  • Ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018

  • Developing and implementing data protection policies

  • Managing data subject requests

  • Conducting data protection impact assessments

  • Advising on data breaches and notification requirements

  • Providing data protection training

  • Liaising with the Information Commissioner's Office

  • Advising on privacy implications of new products and services

  • Monitoring data protection compliance

Contract Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering the contract management system

  • Monitoring contract deadlines and renewal dates

  • Coordinating the contract review process

Legal Operations Manager

  • Producing management reports on legal metrics

  • Managing relationships with external service providers

Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to the legal team

  • Assisting with document preparation and review

  • Conducting legal research

  • Maintaining legal files and records

  • Coordinating meetings and appointments

  • Drafting routine legal correspondence

  • Managing the legal inbox and initial queries

  • Assisting with contract administration

  • Supporting case management

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Committee

Members: General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel - Regulatory Compliance, representatives from key business units

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the implementation of the compliance program

  • Reviewing compliance risks and mitigation strategies

  • Monitoring compliance incidents and resolutions

  • Making recommendations for compliance improvements

  • Reporting to the Board on compliance matters

Risk Management Working Group

Members: General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial, representatives from Finance, Operations, and IT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and assessing legal and regulatory risks

  • Developing risk management strategies

  • Monitoring risk mitigation actions

  • Reporting on risk management effectiveness

  • Recommending improvements to risk processes

Policy Review Committee

Members: Representatives from Legal, HR, Operations, and other relevant departments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing new and updated company policies

  • Ensuring policy compliance with legal requirements

  • Coordinating policy implementation

  • Monitoring policy effectiveness

  • Recommending policy changes
